I have just finished the self/less book by AViVA and here’s my book review.
I love the dystopian storyline, it’s where the government has banned self expression and creativity and the government says “We watch because we care.” 👁 spooky right? that line “we watch because we care” is all over metropolis it’s all over the walls, on flags, it’s plastered on everything.
Teddy is also set to be partnered with a boy at the annual jubilee is putting on a brave face for her mother, and the word being partnered up with someone indicates that even teens at the jubilee don’t get to choose who they build a relationship with because the government partners you with someone.
Teddy sneaks out one night to the underground and goes and gets caught by Paula and then gets really hurt and kit and Jamie rescue her and take her on a adventurous mission to pick up surplies for the underground.
Then teddy who is creative at home in her art journal asks kit and Jamie how she’s infected because of her creativity and then they go on to say “infected”there’s no such thing the government in metropolis say were infected to keep us in line!
After i finished the book there’s a amazing cliffhanger ending. I give the first book self/less a 10/10.
